In collaboration with artist Ian Beesley, cartoonist Tony Husband, poet Ian McMillan and people living with dementia and their carers this exhibition shared people’s lived experiences and celebrated that a dementia diagnosis doesn’t mean life is over. Banners are a medium steeped in political change and protest, and the banners and poems displayed at the Thackray Museum of Medicine in 2021 powerfully expressed celebration and frustration linked to life with dementia.
