Thackray Museum of Medicine

I joined the Thackray Museum of Medicine in 2018 as part of the collections team before becoming the project curator for the £4million capital redevelopment project which saw repairs to the building, new toilets, lifts, café and shop, but most importantly a total overhaul of all the of gallery spaces. I was the sole curator for the redevelopment and researched, wrote and oversaw the design, creation and install of the 12 new gallery spaces.

The Thackray Museum of Medicine is the UK’s largest independent museum and the redevelopment came runner up for Museum of the Year 2021, received a special commendation at the European Museum of the Year awards in 2023, and was recognised with a Visitor Attraction Accolade Gold Award in the Visitor Attraction Accolades for 2022–2023.
