I am a freelance curator, researcher and interpretations consultant with a focus has been sharing historical and contemporary stories through interpretation, exhibitions and programmes, improving access to collections and ensuring everything I produce resonate with diverse audiences.
I have worked with academics, artists, medical practitioners, technologists, individuals and community groups to produce exciting and collaborative exhibitions and galleries. I specialise in bridging the gap between academia and museums and galleries and their audiences.
I have a PhD in history from the Centre of History and Philosophy of Science at University of Leeds. I specialised in nineteenth century history of medicine and science. Whilst at the University I was the curator/acting director of the Museum of History of Science, Technology and Medicine. I was based at the Thackray Museum of Medicine from 2018 to 2025 before moving to freelance work. At the Thackray I was the curator during the capital works redevelopment project which was a runner up for Museum of the Year in 2021, won a special award at the European Museum of the Year awards in 2023 and was awarded a Visitor Attraction Gold award in 2023. Since the museum reopened to the public continued to care for the permanent galleries and update their content and oversee the temporary exhibition programme.
Based in York, I work across the UK. Please get in touch if you’d like to find out more or discuss potential projects.
